Marines get saved all the time

Hey Vice President JD Vance once again Coast Guard saving a marine

The most famous historical instance of the Coast Guard saving Marines occurred during WWII on September 27, 1942, at Guadalcanal, where Coast Guard Signalman First Class Douglas Munro sacrificed his life to shield and evacuate 500 trapped Marines. His extraordinary heroism during the Second Battle of the Matanikau enabled the safe withdrawal of Lieutenant Colonel Lewis “Chesty” Puller’s battalion. For this action, Munro was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, making him the only Coast Guardsman in history to receive the nation’s highest military decoration.
