What is God’s deliverance?
He offers us covenants that bind us to Him and bless us with even greater help and strength through His Spirit. He truly is our Deliverer. What Is Deliverance? Deliverance can mean liberation, freeing, rescue, or salvation. Prophecies foretelling the life and mission of Jesus Christ promise us the deliverance that He will provide. His Atonement and Resurrection provide all of us an escape from physical death and, if we repent, an escape from spiritual death, bringing with it the blessings of eternal life. The Psalmist declared, “Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.” (Psalm 119:129) God’s testimonies excite wonder and admiration and are marvelous and amazing. Meditating on God’s word causes one to admire God and realize how great He is. This produces a desire to keep the commandments of His word.

“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments.” (verses 130, 131) God’s word gives light and understanding. It provides wisdom to those who need it most. The Psalmist so desired the understanding given by God’s word that he panted and longed for God’s commandments.

The Psalmist pleaded with God to look upon him and show him mercy.

Once again, the Psalmist looked for the light of God’s approval. He did not look to fit in or to get approval from man but was content to please God and have God shine upon him. “Deliver me from the oppression of man: so will I keep thy precepts. Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; and teach me thy statutes.” (verses 134,135)

When the Psalmist saw others living a life of sin, it grieved him very much. It brought sorrow to him. O Lord, I ask for Your comfort and peace in this time of grief. Help me to find solace in the memories of my loved one, who has now passed away. Wrap Your arms around me and those grieving alongside me. Give me the courage to face each day with faith and strength, knowing that my lost loved ones will always be remembered. I thank You, God, for being a source of strength and guidance through life’s hardships. May I lean on You during times of sorrow? Let me find hope in Your promises of love and grace, even in the darkest days. God says things like this: “You are my beloved.” “I have loved you with an everlasting love.” “I formed you in your mother’s womb.” “If you will seek my face, you will find me.” Etc. God’s message for me today is always one of love, acceptance, and affirmation.

The prayer of protection. The prayer of transformation. The prayer of restoration.

Saying, “Yes,” to God means saying, “Yes,” to being who He wants us to be. When we say, “Yes,” to God, we say, “Yes,” to all that He is. We say, “Yes,” to becoming all that we can be for Him. We say, “Yes,” to being all that He created us to be-to live our purpose with Him beside us.
