Washington Monument is an iconic 555-foot obelisk on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., built to honor George Washington, the United States’ first president. It is the world’s tallest stone structure and obelisk. The monument is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free, though tickets are required to go inside. 

Planning Your Visit

  • Tickets: Tickets are required for all visitors two years and older to enter the monument.
