As a pastor I apologize to all of you who we have told to stay #faithful and #prayerful and remain in your abusive situation in hopes that your spouse will stop.

I apologize for the times we told you that God hates #divorce and that you would not be pleasing God if you walked away from your marriage even though you were being abused.

I apologize for the times that we as pastors told you that your faith and favor would change him. And that God would give you the strength to stay.

I apologize for the times that you were told to forgive and forget and stick and stay.

I’m sorry that we saw the bruise covered with makeup and did not inquire as to what it was.

As a pastor, I am Godly sorry that we led you to believe that if you cook and clean and sex him up real good that it would take the stress away thus stopping him from hurting you and your babies.
