As a #LegalInstrumentsExaminer (#LIE), you will serve as a specialist in the areas of licensing and documentation of merchant mariners and examining merchant marine personnel in accordance with applicable statutes and regulations.

To qualify for the GS-06 level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS05 grade level in the federal service.

Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: Reviewing legal instruments, applications, respond to inquiries both oral and written received from the public and/or governmental agencies, draft routine correspondence for signature, knowledge and use of date entry systems, and applying Federal laws and regulations.

To qualify for the GS-07 level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the #GS06 grade level in the #federalservice.
