President Biden’s #NationalOceanMonthProclamation highlights all the ways in which the ocean makes life on Earth possible — feeding us, sustaining #livelihoods, and #connecting #economies across the #globe. His #proclamation #outlines the #challenges our ocean faces, but it also #highlights the progress we can make as a Service—including by implementing our recently released #CoastGuard #Climate #Framework, which focuses on preparedness, resilience, and #collaboration with #partners and #stakeholders to best position the Coast Guard for the challenges brought by climate change.
The Coast Guard was also an active participant in the development of the first-ever interagency Ocean Climate Action Plan, a groundbreaking roadmap to harness the power of the ocean to #advance #immediate, #transformative steps to protect ocean health, advance #climatesolutions, support #healthycommunities, and ensure a #robust and #sustainable #oceaneconomy.
